BGP Inc. is one of the world’s largest land geophysical service contractors, offering 2D, 3D, 4D, VSP, and multicomponent field services to E&P clients through more than 50 international seismic crews in 45 countries. BGP also provides geophysical field services that extend beyond seismic, including surveys that require gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic, and geo-chemical measurements.
INOVA operates with a separate, independent management structure overseen by a Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of seven directors, six directors representing BGP and one outside director.
Management
Carey Mogdan – Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Mogdan was appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 2020. Prior to his promotion, Mr. Mogdan was the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for INOVA’s business development, sales, marketing, manufacturing operations, customer service, repair and rental business. Before joining INOVA, he was Vice President at Tarpon Energy Services. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mogdan held senior management roles in manufacturing operations and was responsible for greenfield and operational expansion both domestically and internationally. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta and designations from the Canadian Institute of Management, the Project Management Institute and the American Society for Quality.
Gavin Pulford – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Pulford is responsible for international finance, human resources, legal and IT for INOVA. He is a strategic finance and operations leader with extensive international management experience and has held senior and other financial management positions in South Africa, England, Canada, and the USA. Mr. Pulford holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Cost and Management Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Production Management.
Zhou Xianglin – Chief Financial Director
Mr. Zhou was appointed Chief Financial Director of INOVA in March 2023. Previously, Mr. Zhou held the position, Director of Finance, responsible for reviewing and summarizing financial information and coordinating INOVA’s finances with BGP. Prior to joining INOVA, Mr. Zhou had almost 15 years of work and financial management experience in the oil and gas geophysics industry. He has served as Director of Tax at BGP and Director of Finance at BGPI. At BGP, he managed tax compliance, planning, audits, and negotiations with Chinese tax authorities and at BGPI, he managed the planning, organizing and control of the overall financial operations of overseas projects. Mr. Zhou graduated from Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, China, majoring in Finance and Taxation. He also studied and earned an Executive MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington in the United States.
Li Rui – President
Mr. Li Rui was appointed President of INOVA in December 2024. Prior to his position, Mr. Li held the General Manager at BGP ADNOC Project, where he was responsible for offshore projects in UAE. Mr. Li had an extensive career in the geophysical industry, including roles as Party Chief and Project Manager on various international projects. His experience spans across different projects and clients, notably contributing to significant offshore operations in China and the Middle East. With 15 years of work and management experience, Mr. Li brings a deep understanding among the geophysical industry. His strategic vision and commitment to innovation will guide INOVA towards achieving its further business goals. Mr. Li has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Geological Engineering from the China University of Petroleum.
Yan Guo Ping – Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Yan was appointed Chief Operations Officer in June 2024. Previously, he served as the Vice President of Overseas Operations at BGP Offshore, where he successfully managed and coordinated the company's international operations. Before joining INOVA, Mr. Yan was the Technical and Resources Manager at Caspian Geo, overseeing technical support and resource management for the company’s operations. With over 38 years of extensive experience in the oil and gas geophysics industry, Mr. Yan brings exceptional expertise and leadership to his role. He holds a Master’s Degree in Enterprise Management from the Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing, China.
Dr. Arjun Selvakumar – Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Selvakumar is responsible for creating and overseeing INOVA’s technology vision, goals and roadmap; product development and strategic technical alliances. Prior to joining INOVA, he served as Vice President of Product Development for Colibrys, Inc., a global supplier of micro electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) based products, and Director of Research and Development within Applied MEMS, Inc. and ION Geophysical, Inc. Dr. Selvakumar has 20 years of leadership experience in concepting, developing and launching MEMS products in the energy, industrial and medical arenas as well as seismic exploration products. Dr. Selvakumar earned his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree from the National Institute of Technology in India.
